Make Oral Health Care Your 2022 Resolution
Let’s face it, sticking to a resolution can be tough. With the excitement of 2022 upon us, we wanted to offer an idea that your smile will thank you for: Getting regular checkups and cleans.
Patients who see us for their regularly scheduled twice-yearly care tend to catch oral health issues before they become big problems, saving both their smile and their pocketbook.
More so, when you maintain proper oral hygiene, you’re more likely to smile with all of your teeth for years to come.
But that’s not even the best part. Visiting us isn’t something you have to do every day (like many diets and exercise resolutions). We hope to see more of you and your loved ones in our practice this year.

Late Night Snacks and Your Teeth
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night craving something sweet or salty? We’d be lying if we said we hadn’t. But eating in the middle of the night isn’t just bad for your sleep routine—it’s also bad for your teeth.
Here are a few reasons to avoid that late-night craving when you’re able to.
1. You probably won’t remember to brush your teeth after you’re done because it’s not a part of your midnight routine. This means you’ll be going back to bed with debris left between your teeth, which can lead to bacteria and cavities.
2. Your mouth is driest during the middle of the night, which means food is going to linger longer. If you can’t stop the craving, try to remember to wash it down with a glass of water.
3. You may not be fully aware of what you’re eating. Did you know that some people sleep-eat? This can lead to chomping down on hard foods, like candy, that you may eat differently when you’re wide awake. Chipped teeth can ensue.

Very good advice. I can not go to bed with a full stomach. Nothing worse. Once my teeth are cleaned before I go to bed, then that's it until the next morning at breakfast time.
